Jezebel Blues: In one of my studies of I Kings, I was struck by the irony in the story of Jezebel and Elijah. Directly after Elijah's complete victory over the prophets of Baal on Mt Carmel, Jezebel puts out a contract on Elijah's life and he runs for it. And doesn't stop. I tried to capture the humor in the story with a bluesy cover of satirical lyrics. It is one of my favorite songs. "I guess that put a damper on her mid-night guru binge"...I often wonder where that line came from...
